Pinitol is a pure substance that is crystallized by separating and purifying it from a pod of Ceratonia siliqua (Carob bean), and has been recognized for its ability to control blood sugar in various animal tests and some human tests.
Pinitol is a raw material extracted and purified from Carob bean pods, and can help control blood sugar, but the relevant human body application test is insufficient (bioactive function level 3) (Recognized as a health functional food ingredient by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety)

Type of sugar alcohol found in pine trees, and is specifically contained in some plants such as beans, pine needles, and carob
